The Story

Erin "D*J*E" has been in radio since 2003 hosting her own weekly radio show on KSCR in Los Angeles.  She started her show with some of the most-loved classic rock songs, but soon moved on to feature some of the best independent bands, laying the foundation for Electric Effect.  On KSCR, Erin not only played the tunes, but most of these independent bands came into the studio for live interviews and acoustic (and sometimes electric)  performances.  Many of these bands were from Los Angeles but some also made special trips over from the East Coast to be on the air with D*J*E.

Erin has since moved on from KSCR, and is now producing her own show, Electric Effect.  Electric Effect is the premiere podcast radio show exclusively featuring the Los Angeles music scene; showcasing the best unsigned and independent bands in Los Angeles, and sometimes those outside of LA as well.  Erin not only keeps you updated on great new bands to check out, but also when and where these bands are playing as well as exclusive information about the bands and their members!  There are other podcasts and podcasters from LA, but only D*J*E gets you "on the list," so-to-speak; getting you personally acquainted with all the acts featured on the show, and dropping you into the pit of where the music scene lives!

In addition to Electric Effect, Erin is active in the radio and music industries.  In the music industry, she works promoting and managing musicians, coordinating bands with talent bookers for shows, and also consulting bands on their various activities.  In radio, besides Electric Effect, Erin cuts sound, produces imaging and dabbles in voice-over work as well.

She loves hearing from her listeners, and you can send a message to her through E-mail and/or the Guestbook.

For the Gear Geeks

To record, I use a beautiful RE-20 Professional Broadcast microphone made by Electro Voice.

I'm a PC chick by upbringing, so I started out and still dabble with Sony Sound Forge, Magix's Samplitude, and SAW. However, I recently bought a Mac Powerbook G4, and am now using Pro-Tools M-Powered with an M-Audio Firewire 410 interface.

A few short "thank you's" to some people who made Electric Effect possible:

  • To my parents -- thank you for having me (haha, or otherwise I wouldn't be here) and for putting up with all my crap over the years, especially in the planning of this show.
  • To Cass -- for continued support, tons of website help, making the rockariffic Buddy Icons and animated banner! AND directing my street team!
  • Ron -- for some great stories and use of your legal mind.
  • Joey for making the awesome logo and starting the website!
  • Becki for being a cool chick, kick-ass friend, and recording Mutant Radio with me!
  • David and Kyle for doing some great voice-overs
  • To Detroit Mutant Radio for writing a f*ing amazing theme song!
  • My super Homie-G-Money A.J., without whom the show probably still wouldn't have a title. Thank you for your ever-present support -- lotsa love!
  • To Steve -- because none of this would have happened without you.  Thank you for everything.
  • To the bands for making the music and trusting me with this project.
  • Everyone who helped and supported me, and....
  • Thank YOU for listening!
